Political analyst Herman Manyora has predicted tough times ahead for Deputy President William Ruto, as he seeks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2022 general polls.
Speaking on Saturday, he likened Ruto to a car driver who is almost reaching his destination, but in between stands a long, narrow and bridge over a crocodile infested lake.
He said that unless the DP reads the politics of the time and picks the hint that he stands no chance of winning, he might subject himself to a situation where he learns the hard way.
Manyora advised the DP to ignore the people cheering him, the likes of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, as his bid is unrealizable.
"I see Ruto getting to a bridge, wanting to cross, beyond lies the statehouse, its at night, he is the driver and there is a long bridge which if he crosses he enters statehouse. But from nowhere fog engulfes the entire area and the bridge is not visible," he said on his Take It Or Leave It analysis channel.
He opined that DP Ruto will have to keenly take a look at the latest happenings in the political arena including the growing distance between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta, and decide whether he will stick to his course.
However, Manyora observed that the DP is in for a very hard task, predicting that President Uhuru Kenyatta will betray him and disregard his initial vow to endorse the DP.
He said that Ruto will have to work hard, but will have to work extra hard to win, or suffer a terrible loss.
"Mbele haiko sawa, lakini utajipanga (all is not well ahead, but you will organize yourself), its that difficult Your Excellency William Samoei Ruto," added Manyora.
