In less than a year, Uhuru has humiliated Kiunjuri at least twice leaving many concerned Kenyans wondering as to why he keeps on doing it to a man he has entrusted with such a critical docket and to make matters worse, his own tribesman.

In fact, some political analysts have been quoted as saying that Uhuru should fire Kiunjuri if he has lost confidence in him or Kiunjuri himself do the 'honourable thing', resign, instead of staying put and continue receiving Uhuru's public tantrums.

The argument has been, is Kiunjuri whom Uhuru reportedly asked to shelve his political ambitions in the run-up to 2017 general elections to continue serving him, so incompetent to warrant such treatment?

And if the answer to the above question is in the affirmative, does it mean that he is the only cabinet member whose incompetence always catches the President's eye?

Well, Uhuru is the only one who can satisfactorily answer this question.

In the meantime, let's draw our own conclusions about this blurred scenario of the President's behaviour below;

1. Uhuru could be preparing Kiunjuri for a huge task ahead

There is a likelihood that Uhuru could be preparing Kiunjuri to succeed him as the Kikuyu kingpin after his exit in 2022. This is not farfetched because Kiunjuri has been mentioned severally by analysts as a potential successor of Uhuru in this capacity.

So, Uhuru's rebuking of Kiunjuri in public could be a wake-up call for him to do more on his docket to stand out among his cabinet colleagues say like Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i.

In other words, Uhuru could be reminding Kiunjuri that if he cannot be entrusted to steer a mere ministerial docket correctly, he should as well forget about being a communal kingpin as it will be a nightmare for him.

2. Uhuru wants to 'strengthen' Kiunjuri

Being a communal kingpin is undoubtedly not a simple task by all means because not all people will agree with you on everything.

Detractors will call you names and even question your ability to lead. But as a shepherd facing all these storms, you still have to inspire confidence to the flock.

As such, Uhuru's attacks on Kiunjuri could be a veiled help to the CS to enable him to develop shock-absorbers in readiness for the future task.

3. Uhuru doesn't want Kiunjuri to succeed him as a kingpin

It is the easiest of the deductions that anyone can come up with because one can simply take Uhuru's word for what it is.

As such, Uhuru could simply be telling Kiunjuri in front of Central Kenya masses that he is grossly incapable of such a role while at the same time warning the community to rally behind him (Kiunjuri) at their own peril!
