Confirming the incident, area chief John Isaboke said the deceased Evans Okora Maroko has been living alone after he separated with his wife several months ago.

"Maroko beat and chased his wife from home several months ago and ventured into alcohol consumption. Efforts to persuade his wife to come back didn't give fruits," said Isaboke.

Mr Isaboke said Maroko was seen disturbed for the better part of Tuesday morning.

"He was asked what was troubling him but, he didn't talk to any of his family members. His body was discovered by his young brothers hanging outside his house," said the chief.

The chief attributed Maroko's death to loneliness because his wife refused to re-unite with his following their dramatic separation.

He said he notified police officers from Manga police station about the incident.

"Police took the deceased body to Christmarianne Mission Hospital morgue in Kisii County," he added.

Isaboke urged men to stop taking suicide as the last option whenever they are faced with difficulties.
