Residents of Matangi village in Kitutu Masaba were left in a rude shock after a body of an ageing man was found dangling from the of his house on Saturday evening.
Confirming the incident, Keroka chief Kennedy Ndege said the body of the deceased Nyarong'i Mosioma was found hanging by his grandson who took him food.
"It was around 6 pm when the deceased grandson took him food only to find the body hanging from roof of the house and raised alarm," said Ndege.
The chief said Mosioma didn't quarrel with any of his family members and his death is a shock to villagers.
"Mosioma has been a peace loving man and has been living alone in the village. His death has left us in shock since he committed suicide without living even a note to explain his decision," he added.
He said police officers from Keroka moved his body to Gucha hospital morgue.
"Probe is ongoing to know what led him to commit suicide," said the administrator.
The chief appealed to residents to seek spiritual guidance and elders guidance whenever they are faced with challenges.
