A small plane crashed on Thursday morning, injuring one person in Malindi, Kilifi County.
The aircraft, witnesses said, was trying to fly high shortly after taking-off from Malindi International Airport, before hitting an electric post and crashed at Furunzi area.
The 10.30am crash saw an injured trainer pilot who was controlling the plane rushed to Tawfiq Hospital for treatment.
Malindi International Airport manager Mohamed Karama, said the aircraft, a Cessna 152, belongs to Kenya School of Flying and was heading to Ukunda in Kwale County.

“The aircraft which belongs to Kenya School of Flying was heading to Ukunda in Kwale County after taking off at 10.30am. Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash," he said.
“The pilot was trying to divert the aircraft towards a swamp after it failed to climb high before hitting an electric post and fell on a house,” he added.
