Speaking through his YouTube channel on Sunday, Professor Mutahi Ngunyi advised Ruto not to boast about struggling his way through by himself because he will be considered unskillful.

“No vice president has ever become president by selling himself as a self-made politician. And this is because whenever you look at a self-made politician you are starring the horrors of unskilled labour,” said Mutahi.

However, he advised the DP to learn from Raila’s impatience that denied him the presidency during the reign of retired President Mwai Kibaki.

He also said that unless Ruto sticks by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his terms, he will never become the head of state just like Odinga.

“Ruto should carry only one lesson from Raila, to become president you cannot be obvious, you cannot be impatient and you cannot feel entitled," stated the analyst.

He added: "If Raila had stuck with Kibaki he would be president today but he saw himself as an equal to Kibaki. If Ruto allows Uhuru to make his president on Uhuru’s terms, it would happen but if he sees it as an entitlement it would probably fall flood on the face,” opined the analyst.
