The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has issued a statement warning Kenyans of con men operating under his name in social media platforms.
DPP Hajji warned that he does not operate a private social media page and so citizens should not be duped to falling prey to individuals out to solicit for funds under his name.
"The DPP does NOT operate any personal social media account," reads an update posted in the official social media page of the DPP's office.
In the past, cartels have been running social media pages under the names of high ranking government officials and also politicians.
Some of the people who have fell victims to the social media scam pages include the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.
