A man from Nyamira is nursing serious emotional heart injuries after his wife of 7 years divorced him over a condom.
Neighbors said Joseph Machoni could not convince his wife, Nancy Bosibori to stay after she found a condom in the pocket of trouser on Wednesday.
"Bosibori was washing clothes early in the morning when she found a condom in a pocket of Machoni's trouser.
"She questioned him how the condom made its way into his pocket but, he failed to explain prompting the wife to pack all her belongings and left the homestead on grounds that Machoni has been playing on her with other women yet she is 3 months pregnant for him," said Albert Osore.
Mr. Osore said efforts by neighbors and Machoni's parents to persuade Bosibori to change her mind did not give fruits.
Fred Obae, area assistant chief said Machoni married Bosibori only 8 months ago.
"Machoni married eight months ago and Bosibori is three months pregnant. She was offended when she found a condom in his trouser's pocket.
"Residents tried to have the two sit down and solve the matter but, the woman was angry and could not listen," he said.
Obae called on married men to be faithful in marriage and stop chasing other women outside the wedlock.
