Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Tuesday led by Bonaventure Oduor Otieno said it is sad that the institution had increased fee without consulting them.

“It is very sad that students are on the street instead of classes demonstrating for their rights following the recent decision by the administration to increase additional fees of Sh14,000 per student which is unrealistic,” said Otieno.

They vowed to continue with their strike until their issues are addressed and solved once and for all.

“The fees increase has really affected students since most of them cannot raise the amount yet they are going to sit for their KNEC examinations in two weeks’ time. We are the appealing Ministry of education to come forth and address the current problem at the institution,” he added.

The students called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene so that justice may prevail and that they will not allow some few individuals to increase fees so that it may benefit him.

He further revealed that his life in danger after leading students to demonstrate against the increased fees calling for the police to give him security on the same.
