The County government of Nairobi has said that the Cuban doctors posted in the county will be rented houses with in-house gyms and private swimming pools.
In a notice to realtors, the City County has tendered for two fully furnished houses within the county suburbs to accommodate the two Cuban medics.
"Fully furnished bedroom but not limited (bedding, washing machine). Fully furnished kitchen but not limited (kitchen appliance, kitchen utensils). Fully furnished sitting room but not limited electrical appliances. Fully furnished washroom, reliable water, and electricity,"described the notice.
The targeted areas within Nairobi include: Karen, Lang’ata, Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Muthangari, Spring Valley, Muthaiga, Lower Kabete, Kitisuru, Westlands, Highridge, Loresho and Windsor among other lavish estates.
A survey of rental prices with the outlined specifications range from Sh140,000 a month in Kilimani while a similar stand-alone unit along Adams Arcade area on Ngong Road is priced at Sh200,000 a month.
A fully furnished bungalow at Lavington’s Kunde area goes for Sh250,000 a month while a one-storeyed facility within Runda goes for Sh400,000.
According to the notice issued on Monday, the houses are to be rented for the next one year and should have private car parks with security as per the UN standards.
