A section of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Nandi has hit out at Homabay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed for disrespecting Nandi governor Stephen Sang.
They were responding to Sang's allegations linking Mombasa governor Hassan Joho to drug trafficking.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Thursday, the MCAs insisted that their governor was merely stating the truth about the Mombasa county boss.
“We wish to clarify and state clearly that we from Nandi County Assembly stand behind our governor and support whatever our he is championing for. Governor Joho shame on you, stop the business of drugs to save the future of this country,” said Kipkurui Chepkwony, Tinderet MCA.
The Ward Representatives further said the Mombasa governor should be investigated on his alleged involvement in illegal drugs business which they pointed out that was ruining the lives of innocent children.
“The challenge that governor Sang has given to Joho is not new. We knew very well that the governor has been in this business for long. Who doesn't know the business he is involved in?" added Kapsabet MCA Fred Kipkemboi.
Governors Sang and Joho have been engaging in a nasty exchange of words since the ODM deputy party leader said DP Ruto can never lead this county.
Joho has already moved to court to sue Sang and legislators Oscar Sudi, Kimani Ichungwa, Samson Cherargei and Didymus Barasa who have linked him to drugs.
