Fish is a favourite dish among pregnant women however, it is the worst foods you should avoid eating due to many reasons. 

According to Allison Webster, PhD, RD, International Food Information Council (IFIC) Foundation, it is reported that some fish are highly packed with mercury which is perilous to the fetus and the mother. 

Not all fish are higher in mercury, there are some that can be consumed by pregnant women. 

These are the fish they should avoid eating at all cost 

1. Shark 

This fish can put pregnant women at risk of developing some infections. 

Although it is associated with vast health benefits, on the other hand, it can cause more harm than good. Reason being, it has high mercury that is toxic in nature. 

2. Swordfish

This is another fish that has dire effects on a pregnant woman. They are all requested to steer clear of this fish. It is a great source of protein but avoid it when pregnant. 

3. Tilefish

It is a great source of fatty acid but due to the fact that it has high mercury, eating this particular fish comes with negative effects and may as well affect the fetus. Try avoiding it for the sake of your unborn child.
