On his official Facebook page, the legislature recounted the events that culminated to the court ordering Mr.Ruto to pay 5million shillings for acquiring Adrian Muteshi's land.

He said that Ruto's lawyers then, claimed the land was bought from Dorothy Yator whom they did not know had fraudulently acquired it.

He proceeded to note that the same has happened in the case of Weston hotel land which has been grabbed from Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.

Mr.Wambugu claims that the deputy president's lawyers, who happened to have defended the latter in Adrian Muteshi's case, have submitted that their client bought the land from Priority Limited and Monene Investment, unaware that the seller acquired it fraudulently.

"Sometime back we learnt that Deputy President William Ruto owned land that had been illegally acquired from Adrian Muteshi. The court declared that he pay Muteshi Sh5M for illegally taking away his land.

"Ruto’s defence was that the land was sold to him by someone (Dorothy Jemutai Yator) who had gotten it illegally from Muteshi, and he (Ruto) didn’t know," read part of the MP's post.

"It seems it happened more than once," he added.

He further wrote disclosed that, "apparently the land on which Ruto’s Weston Hotel stands was grabbed from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). The court has ordered Ruto to pay Sh 300M to KCAA."

"Ruto’s defence is the same as in the Muteshi case. The land was sold to him by someone (Priority Ltd & Monene Investment) who’d gotten it illegally & (again) Ruto didn’t know!" he further noted.

The post elicited mixed reactions amongst the netizens, some castigated the legislature for maligning Mr.Ruto's name, while others termed the deputy president as corrupt.
