An administration police officer and a civil servant were on Monday arraigned before Keroka law courts in Nyamira County and charged over forgery of land title deed.

The suspects AP officer Kennedy Mairura,  and Samuel Mogaka appeared before Resident Magistrate SK Alome. 

The suspects were charged with 8 counts among them being forging a land title deed with an aim to grab land from orphans. 

The court heard that the suspects committed the offence between diverse dates in the year 2012 in Kisii County. 

The prosecution told the court that the suspects forged the land title belonging to orphaned kids in Bomesicho village in Masimba, Kisii County. 

However, the suspects pleaded not guilty and asked the court to free them on bond arguing that they will not boycott court proceedings.

SK released the suspects on a bond of Sh200,0000 or a cash bail of Sh80,000. 

The magistrate set the hearing of the case to be on April 4, 2019. 

The suspects were warned against boycotting court proceedings adding that their bond terms will be scrapped if they fail to appear in court.
