Residents of Manyatta Estate in Kisumu were gripped with shock over the weekend, after a man’s body was found in a bar.
The middle aged man's body was found on the floor of a bar in Manyatta estate on Saturday, after allegedly drinking for very long hours.
“We suspect that he died in the morning after over drinking the spirit," an eye witness identified as Elvis Oketch was quoted by the Standard.
According to Oketch, the man was seen seated in isolation ordering lots of drinks on Friday night.
The unidentified man allegedly died due to excessive consumption of alcoholic spirits.
A bottle was found on the table where he had sat for more than eight hours during the drinking spree.
Other witnesses claimed that the man appeared as if he was stressed up.
"He appeared to have been still alive at around 7:00am. He was groaning as he lay on the floor, and people thought he had blacked out, only to find that he was already dead," another witness told the Standard.
His body was taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary (JOOTR) popularly known as Russia as police launched investigations to establish the cause of his death.
