According to the plan released by government, the third phase would pass from Naivasha-Narok-Bomet-Ikonge-Sondu-Kisumu. But there are fears about construction of Terminus, an important linkage in areas perceived to be cconomically viable.

Youths from Nyamira on Tuesday suspected ill plans to change the initial plan, just three days after Mr Odinga visited Sondu. According to Mr Ronald Oyugi, the plan has already been interfered with, adding that local leaders should chip in and ensure a terminal is constructed at Ikonge market.

"Gusii elected leaders must check and confirm the SGR track from Bomet to Sondu. The initial plan to have it pass Gusii changed for population density within Gusii. However, (1) ensure it passes less than 3Km from Nyamira border (2) Lobby for jobs for Gusii qualified/trained youths (3) Lobby for a superhighway connecting Kisii through Nyamira to the station (4) Ensure Raila doesn't push for an only station in Kisumu for economic reasons to his region. Lobby for a station at either Ikonge or Nyamira, and ensure the superhighway connection.

"To our ODM Governors and ODM Senators, remember nothing less. The job is beginning from Narok in June. Siri mko nayo sasa. June. Build Interior Roads to connect to Kisii-Nyamira. Rescue our people. Watch Raila asitucheze wakisii," he argued.

Youth Governor Chairman Patrick Matoke has threatened to mobilise hundreds of young people to Nairobi to seek answers to the latest allegations. According to him, Mr Odinga plans to shift the terminus to Sondu, a market center within Kisumu County.

"We shall not allow his bullying. This is totally unacceptable. The original plan must stand. We cannot not allow someone to exclude Abagusii community on matters development. We are seeking answers from authorities soon," he said.

During the State of the Nation address, President Uhuru Kenyatta revealed plans to expand Kisii-Kiricho highway due to proposed construction of SGR line. The President's sentiments were interpreted to mean that the initial plan of construction of Ikonge Terminus were in place.
