Celebrated Tanzanian musician Harmonize has confirmed that he will be performing at the inaugural Chaget Festival in Eldoret town this Saturday.
The Wasafi Records artist in a short video on his Instagram account has promised to thrill Kenyan fans during the event that will be held at the Eldoret Sports Club.
“I will be performing live in Eldoret on Saturday 3rd November. Tell a friend to tell a friend because I will be there,” said the ‘Kwangaru’ hitmaker in the short video clip.
According to the Chaget Festival organizer Omondi Wa Mercedes of Shado Events Initiative, the event seeks to celebrate the Kalenjin culture of wearing a jacket, popularly referred to as ‘chaget’.
“It is believed that every Kalenjin has a chaget (jacket) in their wardrobe. On this note, the event targets to create a platform to highlight major issues touching our youth and the general public like empowerment and investment. Come and join us in celebrating culture, empowering fellow Kenyans and having fun,” said Omondi.
The Bongo artist who enjoys almost a fanatical fan base in the country is expected to arrive at the Eldoret International Airport on Friday ahead of the mega event.
“I can confirm that as Fly Tristar we shall be flying with Harmonize to Eldoret on Friday and back after the event,” Fly Tristar Head of Marketing Donald Kigali said on Thursday.
Apart from Harmonize who will be the guest artist at the event, several other popular Kalenjin musicians are also expected to perform.
They include Sweet Star, Kapkoma Lady and Olessos Melodies among others.
