Vocal opposition Senator Lekina Ole Dama has pleaded with his Bungoma counterpart Moses Wetangula to ensure the gold deal is sealed with genuine marchandise.
Ledama on Sunday asked Wetangula to give the United Arab Emirates Royal Family what they were asking for, warning that politicians with investments in Dubai risk suffering the most.
The Senator said Kenyan property risks being traded off by the royal families if the business is not done in favour of the UAE dealers. he further cautioned that Kenyans maybe unwelcomed guests to the state in the event Wetangula fails to honour the alleged gold deal.
"If the Gold is not returned to the Royal Family! UAE might be a no go zone for Kenyans! Rudisheni Gold ya wenyewe Kabla Mali yenu Dubai kuuzwa! #FakeGoldScam @citizentvkenya @RobertAlai @Wetangulam," appealed Ledama in a Tweet on Sunday.
The Narok Senator's plea comes in the wake of DP Ruto's calls to opposition politicians named in fake gold scandal to stop dragging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name into their illegal gold business.
Speaking at Chepchoina Immaculate Catholic Church in Trans Nzoia County on Saturday, DP Ruto asked those named into the fake gold scandal to carry their crosses alone.
Wetangula, in a leaked telephone conversation mentioned the names of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, President Kenyatta and Interior Cabinet Fred Matiang'i to assure a Dubai gold investor that the detained consignment would be released.
