She cemented this image with her vast majority support marshaled in 2007 when she won the parliamentary seat in a constituency that hardened male Members of Parliament had been dominating for decades.

The former assistant minister of the Nairobi Metropolitan Development during the grand coalition government has been silent ever since contesting unsuccessfully in the Ruaraka parliamentary race in 2017.

Her political career has not been clear due to the changing political sphere in the country.

The former Kasarani MP who fell out with the Orange democratic movement party leader Raila Odinga has since maintained her low life out of the public domain.

After falling out with Odinga, Ongoro joined Mudavadi's ANC in a move to try winning the Ruaraka seat which was eventually won by Tom Kajwang of the ODM party.

The former ODM nominated senator lost the petition she filed against the incumbent MP and has ever since gone mute.

While in ODM, Ongoro served as the deputy chairperson of the party until she decided to move out of the party burying her own political career since the 'Odinga factor' in country's capital could never be washed off at the moment by any other politician.
