After falling out with Odinga, Ongoro joined Mudavadi's ANC in a move to try winning the Ruaraka seat which was eventually won by Tom Kajwang of the ODM party.
The former ODM nominated senator lost the petition she filed against the incumbent MP and has ever since gone mute.
While in ODM, Ongoro served as the deputy chairperson of the party until she decided to move out of the party burying her own political career since the 'Odinga factor' in country's capital could never be washed off at the moment by any other politician.
