Interior Cabinet Secretary has expressed his happiness with police officers in Gusii region for committing themselves in serving the public.
According to Matiang'i, the officers have been working around the clock to arrest drug peddlers and flushing out criminals from the villages.
"I am happy that police officers serving in Kisii and Nyamira Counties are working hard despite the pressure I have put on them," he said.
He said rogue and lazy police officers will not be condoned, adding that they risk losing out salaries.
The Cabinet Secretary confirmed that over 70 police officers have been sacked for colluding with drug peddlers and illicit brewers since he was appointed as the cabinet secretary.
"I am not going to rest until the reforms I want are achieved in the police boss. Members of the public should volunteer information about any officer demanding for bribes from illicit brewers for necessary legal actions to be taken," he noted.
Mr. Matiang'i said he will not succumb to cheap threats from politicians who are out to spread propaganda about the change of police uniforms.
He was speaking on Monday at Kereri Girls High school in Kisii County.
