A 60-year-old witch doctor has gone into hiding after he confessed to being responsible for the death of his neighbor's son.
Locals of Emesa village in Mochengo, South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County claimed that the witch doctor, Justine Ondoro confessed that he bewitched Samuel Onyuri's son after he stole a banana from his farm.
"Ondoro has been operating as witch doctor for over 10 years. Onyuri's son, Wilson Okindo Onyuri stole a banana from his farm and he threatened to kill him," said a local Vincent Machoni.
Area chief, Jared Orwochi said the witch doctor he confirmed that he always bewitched anybody who steals his bananas.
"I personally questioned the witch doctor and I was shocked when he confessed that he killed the deceased. He left my office on Tuesday and he has since gone into hiding," said the chief.
He said the deceased died on Tuesday evening at Nyamache hospital where he was undergoing treatment after he developed a swollen stomach.
