Security authorities has raised alarm over increased number of twilight girls in Nyamira County.
County Commissioner Isaiah Nakoru said the rate at which twilight girls are invading shopping centers, entertainment joints, bars is worrying.
"The number of twilight girls operating as sex traders in Nyamira County is on the rise. Parents seems to have neglected their parental responsibilities thus making ladies to invade streets, bars within Nyamira County to be hired for sex with men," he said.
The county chief said local chiefs should work around the clock to ensure girls dropping school to venture into sex trade business are arrested and taken back to school.
"Chiefs are government representatives in deep villages. I hereby, issue a directive to all chiefs to ensure no girl is dropping of school to join the sex trade business.
"The government is offering free day primary and secondary school education and there is no way girls can drop school to be sex traders," he added.
He reiterated that irresponsible parents will be arrested to face prosecution in a court of law.
