Winger Ayub Timbe Masika has been recalled ot the national team Harambee Stars, ahead of next month's qualifier match against Sierra Leon.
Timbe, who plays for Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe is one of the two players recalled by head coach Sebastien Migne.
The player was serving a three-match ban and fined 10,000 U.S. dollars by the continental governing body CAF in May following an incident that occurred during the opening round of the qualifiers last year where Kenya lost 1-2.
The team has however done well in his absence, collecting seven points after two wins; against Ghana and Ethiopia, and a draw.
Sierra Leon has not played in the last two rounds of fixtures; against Ghana, after they were banned by FIFA due to government interference in soccer matters.
The match against Sierra Leon has not been confirmed, but FKF chose to give coach Migne the go ahead to name his team in case they will be needed.
"We are operating as if Sierra Leone will come. It is stated nowhere that they have been withdrawn from the competition. Until now, no one says they are out,” FKF president Nick Mwendwa said in Nairobi on Tuesday.
“We know the ban is still in place but what would happen if Sierra Leone shows up on Nov.14? Kenya is ready for the AFCON, if they come, we (will) beat them, if they don’t, we will take the points and move on,” he added.
Mwendwa further confirmed Kenya was lining up a friendly in the next FIFA international window that will run from Nov. 12 to 20 against a yet to be announced country.
