Chatting has become a common mean of communicating. It can be done through WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, SMS among others.
However, there are some irritating chatting behaviours that kill conversations, spoil one's moods and even lend entire conversation boring.
These are some of the irritating chatting behaviours we should desist from:
1. Use of acronyms and 'hard' vocabularies
The sole aim of chatting is sharing information in an easily understandable language. Using simple language and avoiding using abbreviations will make your conversation to be easily understood.
2. One letter/one-word response
Imagine writing someone a 30-word text and you get 'k' as a response. Before replying using that 'k' bear in mind somebody took his or her time composing that lengthy text. Your one-word response can be interpreted as rudeness or lack of interest in the conversation. It irks and spoils moods.
3. Texting in capital letters
Unless you are short-sighted, texting and chatting using capital letters is distasteful and disrespect to your grammar teacher.
4. Use of vulgar language
When chatting, consider etiquette and good manners and avoid using uncouth language. A guy texting a girl who had just given him her phone number and calling her 'babe' or 'dear' is offensive and disrespectful. Handle people with utmost respect.
5. Conversation killers
These are strange lots, they text you and when you reply they ask you to 'tell them'. They go forth and ask you why you have been silent lately forgetting it is their first time they are texting you. It is conventional that when you first text someone, initiate the conversation and lead it rather than starting the conversation and expecting to be led.
