The Catholic Church has urged it's members to be kind and observe humility when serving fellow human beings across the world, adding that such approaches opens doors for people.
Father Lawrence Nyaanga on Wednesday lauded Mr Peter Tabichi of Keriko Secondary School who won global teachers award in Dubai, saying that he's a typical reflection on how humility pays.
"I know him. He's a Franciscan brother and we are deeply humbled. His victory is a reflection that humility pays. This is what as Christians we should do all the time. Let's be kind and humble," the Kisii University chaplain said in a phone call.
Before moving to Nakuru, Tabichi is known for his teachings at Kemera ward in the Diocese of Kisii. He serves the Franciscan team whose headquarters are at Asumbi in South Nyanza.
Brother Francis Monari also of Franciscan brothers, said Tabichi's honour and recognition is a majoe challenge to all his colleagues to work hard and help the society.
"That's what we are taught in church and he practiced that. Giving is a virtue that should be embraced by all for God will reward all of us. It's a nice win for all of us and we are happy for him," he said.
Kemera MCA George Morara said the top teacher will be received at JKIA on Wednesday afternoon from Dubai and Education minister Prof George Magoha is expected to lead the delegation to airport.
After an expected trip to State House, Tabichi will tour his Nakuru school on Saturday. He is then expected to be hosted at home in Nyamira, a ceremony that will be graced by several leaders from the county.
According to him, part of Sh100 million will be used in building a modern library at his school. He will also support needy students from his home and Nakuru.
