Kapkures Ward MCA Paul Kimtai, together with his close aide Richard Langat, have been granted a month by the court to present progress of an out of court settlement deal with a complainant in a forgery case.
Chief Magistrate Josephat Kalo granted the orders after an application from the defense lawyer who sought for an extension of time to settle the matter out of court.
In his ruling, Kalo moved the matter to November 16 to allow the parties to negotiate and give a report.
"The parties have a month to present progress on an out of court settlement, the matter will be mentioned on November 16 for directions," ruled Kalo.
According to the two, they are yet to reach an agreement with the complainant.
"We are yet to reach an agreement on the matter and would urge the court to grant us more time to allow the parties to execute the same," said Okiro.
The duo, who was arrested in 2017, was charged with forgery of land titles of a plot within Nakuru.
