Political analyst Dennis Anyonka has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Sunday attacks on the Tangatanga faction of the ruling Jubilee Party will not go unanswered.
He said that the answer should be expected from Deputy President William Ruto who is said to be leading the faction, though he will use his foot soldiers to do the job for him.
He said that though the remarks might have offended the DP, he is too sharp to personally respond, thanks to his pending presidential bid which might need Uhuru's endorsement.
Therefore, he predicted a situation where the likes of Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa or his Kiharu counterpart Ndindi Nyoro will come out to respond in the course of the week.
"I think Ruto is a little clever, he won't respond. He will leave it to his allies like Ichungwa and Ndindi Nyoro to respond (Nafikiri Ruto ni mwerevu kidogo, hatajibu. Atawachia vibaraka wake kama Ichungwa na Ndindi Nyoro wamjibu)," he said.
Anyonka was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Monday morning, where he added that the group will not be scared about their possible losses in the 2022 elections.
He opined that though Uhuru remains the Mt Kenya kingpin and can easily frustrate them in the elections, they most likely have their future secured by the DP.
"Even if they won't be elected, their interest will be looked into by Ruto, he has the money (Hata kama hawatachaguliwa, interest zao zitaangaliwa na Ruto, Ruto ako na pesa)," he added.
In his rant during an Akorino function at the Moi Sports Centre in Kasarani, Uhuru accused some Mt Kenya MPs allied to the DP of demeaning and disrespecting him in rallies.
He reminded them that they hold their offices because of him, vowing to smoke them out and challenging them to do their constitutional jobs and stop politicking.
