Reports indicate that police officers descended on James Omoro as he covered chaos at the assembly, and confiscated his camera.

It is alleged that a group of rowdy youth sneaked into the assembly premise at around 5:00 am to secure the office of the Leader of Majority following leadership row that is ongoing at the assembly.

The situation forced the police to move in and lob teargas at the rowdy youth who were trying to force themselves into the Leader of Majority's  office which had been already occupied by the freshly elected Walter Were, and his fellow ward representatives who have been backing him up.

The confrontation lasted for almost three hours forcing the area police boss to call for backup from other police stations including Ndhiwa, Rangwe, Kendu-Bay, and Mbita.

The injured journalist has already recorded a statement with the Criminal Investigation Department at Homabay police station.
