Igembe North legislator Maoka Maore said Murkomen should be impeached after he referred to President Uhuru Kenyatta as mkora (goon) when he visited Mau forest evictees on Thursday.

Speaking to Sunday Nation, Maore accused the Senator of undermining the presidency and inciting Kenyans against the government, adding he should be removed from his position since he was no longer representing the interests of Uhuru's Jubilee Party.

"From his tone and comments, Murkomen should be relieved of his duties as Majority Leader immediately. He was throwing tantrums purporting to be angry because of the Mau evictions yet he went personal with the President. He is supposed to be the face and the voice of the government," said the MP.

Murkomen, however, has stood his ground vowing to continue opposing forceful eviction of settlers in the water tower and further castigating police of violating human rights in the exercise which has sparked a heated debate in the ruling outfit.

"If by standing with the poor, the weak and young children who are suffering in Mau I am being disrespectful, then I am guilty as charged," he said in a statement on Saturday.
