A man has gone into hiding after he allegedly engaged in illicit sex with his daughter.
The incident happened on Sunday in Chabera, Nyamira County.
According to the area Chief Daniel Mwabora, the man, Vincent Nyakwama, lured his 13-year-old daughter into their bedroom when his wife went to Chabera market.
“Nyakwama was left at home with his daughter who was looking after cattle. He called her from a field where she was grazing cattle and ordered her to enter the bedroom where he locked the door, undressed her and had sex with her,” said Mwabora.
He noted that the man after the incident warned the minor against telling anyone and left home to an unknown destination.
The administrator said the minor confided to her mother, Josephine Nyakwama when she returned from the market
The mother later reported the matter to Nyumba Kumi officials.
“The minor’s mother informed Nyumba Kumi officials about what had happened to her daughter. The suspect is at large but, we are hunting him down to ensure he is arrested,” he added.
He warned men against sleeping with their daughters.
