Just a day after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino dimissed claims that Raila Odinga is behind Governor Okoth Obado's woes, a number of ODM leaders have waded into the debate.
For the 9th day, Obado is languishing in Industrial Area prison where he was remanded awaiting application for bail that will be heard on October 8th.
Nyamira ODM branch chairman Richard Kaka insisted that Obado should face the rule of law without dragging innocent people.
"This is purely a criminal case and he should face it without dragging people's names. It's a personal matter that he should vindicate himself," he said.
Party lawyer Tony Moturi added: "I am not qualified to comment but it's essential we respect courts. It's a criminal case that he should face without necessarily dragging other people," he said.
A section of Obado's supporters accused Raila and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed of orchastrating Obado's woes.
Mr. Obado is facing criminal charges over the murder of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno, whom prosecution claim was murdered by people close to him.
Also in jail are Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero (his aides), Elvis Omondi, his bodyguard and taxi driver Jackson Gombe are also in police custody.
