When he visited Garissa County in 2017 after the historic annulment of President Uhuru's re-election in the August 8 general elections, DP Ruto gave a hint of who would lead his campaigns.

While thanking the residents for voting for Jubilee, he paid tribute to the work that Garissa Township MP Aden Duale had put in on behalf of Jubilee.

"I want to thank you for voting for us. I also want to thank you for giving us this man called Duale. I told you that Duale can do work that can be done by ten men," Ruto waxed lyrical.

The glowing tribute was the clearest indication yet that Duale would be tasked by the DP to lead his presidential campaigns.

Duale himself has talked about retiring from politics after Ruto becomes the fifth president of Kenya.
