The year 2018 had a fair share of it's chronicles with Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama having a period to forget in his six years at the helm of power.
In December, Governor Nyagarama's photo seemed to have irritated his constituents with a host of them accusing him of mockery in terms of development.
But what stood out is the photo of him taking around his Siaya counterpart Amoth Rasanga at his Tente home where he was seen showing him his small scale farm where he has planted cabbages.
"When other governors are launching multi-million projects, Nyagarama is busy launching 50 cabbages. I pray that this year he changes for the better. It's time that he seriously revisited his manifesto," argued Vincent Omao.
Another user, Evans Gecheo added: "Launching fifty cabbages is not a joke. The governor should add more. After all he's the boss. Nyamira is the finest place to be. Maybe this year we shall see more cabbages."
For the last six years, Nyagarama has struggled to stamp his authority with locals accusing his government of maladministration and mass graft.
In his new year message. Mr Nyagarama however insisted that he will pump more resources to the agricultural department, adding that he has already released Sh1. 5 million grant to dairy famers.
"We intend to invest more in agricultural production. My government has disbursed Sh1. 5 million to dairy farmers from across 15 wards," he said.
