But contrary to many people's expectations, Mr. Gichana did not take a flight from Arusha to Nairobi, instead preferring road transport.

A source privy to Mr. Gichana's movements, says using a flight could have complicated the situation at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport just like 'Miguna's case'.

"There were plans to have him take a flight from Arusha to Nairobi but the option was dropped in final hours.

"We feared that there could have emerged a complication at the Airport just like Miguna Miguna's case. We thought it wise to use road transport," said the US.

Mr. Gichana, who pleaded guilty to money laundering and fraud cases, is also being sought by State Department for extradition.

A free Bosco, who paid Sh15 million for his release after five years in jail, was seen walking at Namanga boarder before joining his family at Kitengela.

On his Facebook, he hailed family, friends and lawyers for standing with him during trial times.
