Dr Owour has often termed the preachers as greedy and selfish.

According to the Repentance and Holiness Prophet, it is wrong for men and women of God who have anointing to demand material things from their flocks.

Prophet Owuor’s followers claim that he does not ask for donations from his flock.

The followers say that Prophet Owuor strives to provide for the needs of his church members.

“We don’t give offerings or 'Panda Mbegu' donations as other churches do,” Mary Okuloba, Owuor’s follower in Kibera says.

Okuloba says that the Prophet only allows for tithing as allowed by the scriptures.

“He (Owuor) says that the Bible does not demand Christians to give money and material things to their pastors,” she said.

Marion Okeyo, a flute player in Owuor’s church, says that they don’t give offerings.

She said that their prophet says that offering has been commercialized and blocked people from getting God's blessings.

“What we do is sing, dance and pray,” she said.

The followers defends Dr Owuor, saying that he is a true servant of God.

“We have seen him heal the sick and make prophecies that have come to pass,” said Jane Osore, Ouwor's follower in Kibera.

Prophet Owuor has never been afraid in attacking city preachers who he accuses of commercializing the church.

Dr Owuor has also often defended himself against allegations of performing fake miracles.
