It is on this day that the Jubilee MP narrowly survived a grenade attack staged by Ashabaab militants in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area.

What started as a normal evening for the MP as he interacted with his constituents at the Hidaya Community center in Eastleigh turned tragic after the grenade attack.

A grenade was hurled at the MP as he interacted with residents leaving his legs shattered and unable to walk.

The attack that was allegedly targeting the lawmaker claimed lives of seven people and seriously injured others.

The MP says that the attack changed his perception of life and how he lives now.

“I saw death with my eyes, saw innocent children dying and I am a living miracle,” the Jubilee lawmaker says.

Hassan spent five years in a wheelchair but he is now able to walk on his own.

He has started programs in Eastleigh, the larger Kamukunji and Garissa County to fight radicalization.

The MP who won re-election in 2017 general election says that his agenda is to end youth radicalization through employment creation.
