Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has yet again fired back at Deputy President William Ruto, insisting that his unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta has nothing to do with him.
Over the past week, Ruto has hinted plot to bring him down in the pretext of fighting corruption with his allies openly blaming Mr Odinga and Uhuru.
On Saturday, Raila defended his deal with Uhuru, denying claims that he's interested in the constitutional changes to enable him and Uhuru stay in power.
“Uhuru wanted to leave a legacy and I told him the way things are going, there will be no legacy to leave. You will leave a more divided country than the one you found.
"Raila also wants to leave a legacy. So we are not in this looking for positions in the future. We are not targeting anybody. This is bringing everybody together,” Raila said.
The ODM leader has been accused of trying to sneak parliamentary system of government which shall see introduction of powerful Prime Minister post in 2022.
On wrecking Jubilee from inside, Odinga also dismissed assertions by the DP that he's keen to dismantle the president's party from within.
He said: "Raila is not a member of Jubilee and he's never been one. He leads the ODM party thus his party is known. Let's stop petty politics."
At Garissa last week, Ruto accused Mr Odinga of allegedly using handshake to bring confusions within the ruling Jubilee party.
