Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o on Friday hosted Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet at his office.
In a message to area residents after the meeting, Governor Nyong'o called upon his constituents to cooperate with the police for safety enhancement.
He stressed on the need for the people to be in the front line in reporting suspicious characters to the law enforces upon detection.
‘’The @NPSOfficial_KE Inspector General @JBoinnet this morning called on me at my office.
"I urge the citizenry of the great @KisumuCountyKE to report to the police individuals with untoward behaviors who may be a threat to peace and tranquility in our county,’’ he posted on his Twitter handle after the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by top police chiefs in the county.
The meeting comes towards the tail end of the police boss’ tenure, as he remains with only a few months to retirement.
Boinnet who came to office on March 11, 2015 is set to constitutionally vacate the office early next year.
