Mombasa County boasts of having one of the vibrant female politicians, Mishi Juma Mboko.
Mboko has actively participated in Likoni political campaigns in 1997 and 2002. She vied for Likoni parliamentary seat in 2007 and lost in party nominations which she said were marred by irregularities.
She would later in March 4, 2017 general elections, successfully be elected Mombasa Woman Representative.
The Moi University Communications and Public Relations graduate was a member of the Joint Committee on Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library, and member of Departmental Committee on Public Works, Roads and Transport.
The ODM lawmaker who has been a close ally of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and her party leader Raila Odinga, would like to see government funded drug rehabilitation centres established in Mombasa.
