And having since declared his bid in the approaching 2022 general polls, he will have it almost impossible convincing the region to back him.

His campaigns are, however, not likely to have any challenges, since being civilized people, the locals will come out to listen and see him but with their decision already made.

Ruto's current enmity with opposition leader Raila Odinga will be the main reason that will deny him the millions of votes the region has to offer.

This will have everything to do with his recent attacks on the former Prime Minister especially after Raila's March 9 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In addition, the Deputy President is yet to make an official visit to Kisumu, the region's capital. This will work against him because locals will feel sidelined, and neglected.

Further, basing on the Kikuyu-Kalenjin cycle that has always dominated the presidency as the two exchange the throne among themselves, he is unlikely to make any achievement.

The region would like to see a new person from a different background come to power to enable the nation get something new and maybe better on matters leadership.

Also, Ruto has over time portrayed himself as a man with a loose tongue and who is well known for hurling insults and name calling.

And the region having not supported him and President Uhuru Kenyatta in their election and reelection bids in 2013 and 2017, its more unlikely to do it in 2022.

This is because it fears suffering in the hands of the DP and being subjected to humility in the name of insults and mockery in revenge should he make it to the top seat.

He will have it even harder getting even a single vote in the area should Odinga who doubles up as the region's kingpin decide to vie.

Further, he has been associated with people deemed rebellious against Odinga, a good example being former Migori Senatorial hopeful Eddy Oketch.

His presidency might therefore empower the persons who will proceed to wreck even more havoc, a situation the region would rather prevent.

Therefore, Ruto has no chances in the region no matter how intense his campaigns will be.
