Uasin Gishu County government has emphasized on agriculture. To reach this high level of maize production, they have made it easy for farmers to access quality farm inputs. Farmers majorly use hybrid maize seed to achieve this high maize production. They also use certified maize seed.
Adoption of modern farming techniques
Farmers have adopted modern farming techniques which affect the growth of agricultural produce. They use tractors to cultivate land hence works on large-scale easily, application of fertilizer and disease control techniques. All they work with modern farming techniques.

Since maize farming is economic activity just like any other business as farmers also want to make a profit, the County government of Uasin Gishu has come up with the distribution of subsidized fertilizer through the National Cereal and Produce Board. This has helped improve maize production.
