Amani National Congress (ANC) nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has intensified the ongoing war of words between him and party Secretary General Barrack Muluka.
The two have been involved in a war of words since Osotsi's ouster from the SG seat, after which he moved to court, insisting that he was illegally dethroned.
Speaking on Wednesday, he poked holes into Muluka's placement on the seat, terming him a simple worker of party leader Musalia Mudavadi and unfit for the position.
He added that contrary to Muluka's claims, the latter was never elected, insinuating that he was simply allocated the seat because of his closeness to the party boss.
"Muluka ni mfanyikazi tu wa Mudavadi, analipwa kutoka katika mifuko ya Mudavadi, hakuna mwanachama aliyemchagua (he is just a worker of Mudavadi who cannot purport that he was elected to the position)," he said.
Osotsi was speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi show on Wednesday morning.
But speaking on the same radio on Tuesday, Muluka maintained that he was picked by party members to lead the party, but expressed his willingness to exit if court orders so.
Osotsi is now accusing the renowned political commentator of trying to force himself at the helm of the party, claiming that he is being used by some persons to take over the party.
He noted that he has kicked off a campaign to rid ANC of such elements, in a bid to strengthen it ahead of the 2022 polls.
"Wakati sasa umefika wa kusafisha chama. Kama unataka chama kuja polepole, ukija kwa kifua hutafaulu.
(It's now time we cleansed the party. Let people eyeing the party leadership follow the procedure, failure to which they will not succeed)," he added.
Osotsi has also been in bad terms with Mudavadi and is earmarked for expulsion from the party over his differences and attacks of the former Deputy Prime Minister.
