Joseph Kibet was on Friday found guilty of killing his wife Jane Chepkemoi.

Appearing before Nakuru High Court judge Justice Janet Mulwa, the court heard that the accused who is aged 61, killed his wife on June 14, 2012.

In her ruling, Justice Mulwa threw out the convicts' argument that he needed to leave prison to go and be with his family, saying that the latter had no family to go to.

She said that that the family of Kibet who was first convicted on December 20, 2018 cannot be located as his children are scattered across the country and not located in any specific place.

The judge added that the children are still affected by their mother's death and are unlikely to want anything to do with him, based on a social enquiry report on the matter.

In his defence through his lawyer, the convict had sought forgiveness from the court on grounds that he is ailing and remorseful for his actions.
