A first-time governor alleged to be in possession of a Masters Degree from the University of Nairobi is now on the spot after the institution confirmed that the said academic degree is fake.
According to a local daily, the University of Nairobi has distanced itself from the said degree, confirming that Ali Korane's Master’s Degree is not genuine.
While responding to a current application seeking to nullify the governor's electoral win on the grounds of forged certificates, the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) confirmed that the UoN, by a letter dated 20, August 2018, distanced itself from issuing a Masters of Business Administration certificate to Garissa governor Ali Korane.
Through Kelvin Lang’at, one of EACC's detectives, the anti-graft agency further revealed that the governor’s name was not featured anywhere in UoNs students' records.
Former finance CEC Idris Aden Mukhtar first initiated the case challenging the validity of Korane's academic certificates before he was shot in Nairobi several months ago.
Currently, Idris is still battling for his life at an Indian Hospital.
