Master Cliff Mayieka went missing two weeks ago but the institution did not however, report to the authorities or the parents, a move that even complicates the case.

In the note, Mayieka cites unexplained difficulties and challenges he was undergoing, adding that only his parents would be allowed to access it.

"The late has been undergoing suffering. He has passed through many challenges," read part of the purported suicide note.

It further read: "Do not open my locker and books. Only my parents will access it. If you do, my spirit will haunt you."

Curiously though, his body was discovered in a pit latrine within the school compound, with his hands tied up.

Sleuths will be piecing together information with the big question remaining; how could someone commit suicide with hands tied up?

County Director of Education Nicodemus Anyang said Cliff Mayieka’s body was retrieved at 8 pm.“We have no clue of what may have caused his death, but police are investigating,” said Dr Anyang.

Dr Anyang said they had deployed a team of counsellors to offer psychological support to students who were in shock.

“We will not close down the school as the students are taking their mid-term exams. They will break next week,” he said.
