A man in Elburgon, Nakuru county, used an axe to hack his father to death over Sh200 milk sales.
The Monday night incident has left neighbours shocked.
According to Elburgon Assistant County Commissioner Naftali Korir, Eric Kibiwot had quarrelled with his father during the day after he demanded Sh200 from milk sales.
He was given Sh100 which he used to buy alcohol and returned home drunk at around 8pm.
"He came back and demanded that he be given the Sh100 balance from what he had asked during the day," a neighbour said.
He caused trouble before he took an axe and hit his 65-year-old father on the head several times.
"The old man was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.
Angry villagers followed the suspect to a nearby bush and lynched him," Korir said.
The old man's body was taken to Elburgon Nyayo hospital mortuary.
