After months of cold relationship, Migori Governor Okoth Obado has reportedly asked Raila Odinga for forgiveness, it has emerged.
On Monday, Obado held a meeting with ODM delegates from the vast Migori County, even though the orange party disowned it.
"ODM has not held any DELEGATES meeting in Migori as is being purported. The bonafide officials in Migori County led by Chairman Philip Makabong'o & Secretary Jossy Olala are mandated to organize such mtgs in consultation with the Party Hqs @JunetMohamed @RailaOdinga @edwinsifuna," the party wrote.https://twitter.com/TheODMparty/status/1064576660173918208?s=19.
Days after being freed from Industrial Area prison where he was remanded over the death of Sharon Otieno, Obado fires shots at Odinga, who he accused of orchastrating his tribulations.
But in the closed door meeting, journalist Ayub Odhiambo says, Obado appeared remorseful to Mr Odinga and the party, pledging to work with him.
"He was humbled, apologized to delegates and party leader. He asked them to support his government to deliver his mandate. He was absolutely humbled and sorry," he said in a conversation.
Obado's brother Daudi Okoth, convened a press conference last week where she also blamed Mr Odinga for the problems his brother is undergoing with authorities.
Although Mr Odinga has not spoken about the tribulations, his allies led by Junet Mohammed have openly told off the governor.
