A boda boda rider died after he was hacked to death by a commercial sex worker over a Sh200 debt.
The incident happened on Thursday evening in Mogonga, Kenyenya in Kisii County.
Witnesses said the deceased, Clinton Aming’a, owed the prostitute, Brenda Mokeira, Sh200 which he promised to pay after he had sex with her.
“Aming’a took Mokeira into lodging on Wednesday night where they had sex. He paid her Sh100 and was left with a balance Sh200 which he promised to pay on Thursday morning without delay,” said Victor Akanya.
Akanya said the better part of Thursday morning, the rider went into hiding until he reappeared in the evening.
He said when the Mokeira found the rider, she demanded the money but, Aming'a said he will not pay her Sh200 which led to the attack.
Area chief Isaac Oroo, said the suspect picked a stone which she used to hit the rider from the back of his head killing him on spot.
“The prostitute hit Aming’a with a stone from the back of his head and killed him instantly. She fled after the incident,” he said.
Oroo said riders tried to chase Mokeira but it was in vain since she disappeared into a neighbouring maize farm.
The rider’s body was taken to Nyamache sub-county hospital mortuary.
