Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei was on Sunday booed by a section of Eldoret residents when she was giving her speech during the Eldoret City Marathon.
A section of hundreds of locals who had turned up for the major sporting event in the City of Champions started booing Shollei when she distanced herself from factions within the Jubilee party, 'Tanga Tanga' and 'Kieleweke'.
"You will never see me in Tanga Tanga or Kieleweke movements function this is because I believe in development and not politics. That's why you don't see me moving around with them," said Sholei amid jeers from the locals.
The Woman Rep, however, braved the jeers and went ahead to give her speech insisting that she was only interested in the development and not politics.
Shollei, a former Registrar of Judiciary has been hardly seen moving around with 'Team Tanga Tanga' that is allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
She has been accused on several occasions by some Uasin Gishu residents of 'conspicuously mising' and not championing for their interests.
The legislator was once quoted that she does not attend political functions because she is not a flower girl.
